It would actually have been helpful if like the original poster back in March you hadn't forgotten to mention the model number of device you are referring to, plus of course exactly what the error indication was that you seen. The reason being because "safeguard mode" is a blanket term and can appear for a range of problems whereas "condensation" doesnt, as its only caused by one specific one, and which although in many cases where it is actually is condensation and so can vanishing again after a while in a warm dry environment, but however in many cases its not actually condensation but the over critical sensing circuitry used in a range of models playing up, then the only real cure for it is as given in the answer back in March 2009. The models most commonly affected being the plain "D" followed by two digits types, although DX (or "very" occasionally DV) can also suffer but very infrequently as their dew sensor system is slightly different.
