i dropped it with the tape area open, it landed directly on the metal mechanism and bent/broke the components. As a result tapes can not be inserted. I wasnt sure if it can be repaired. Probably cheaper t buy a new one.

Although being technically acquaint with this range of JVC camcorders unfortunately I cant answer your specific enquiry, however I am curious as to the reason for you requiring to make the request, i.e: did the mechanism get damaged? or were you told it required replacing because you were continually getting some error code?
