JVC HDD gz-mg30u

my batteries won't take a charge. the camera only works when plugged in.

Hi there, yesterday I purchased a new battery for my camcorder but it won't take a charge. My two old batteries did this as well. I thought the old ones may have just been too old so I purchased a new one...but it has made no difference. The only way the camcorder works is if its plugged in. Any thoughts?

You haven't actually mentioned whether or not the charging light starts to blink, if it doesnt have a look at the contacts inside the battery recess slot on the back of the camcorder and check that they are at the same level to each other and that one hasn't got pushed in or distorted in some way whereby its not connecting with the battery. If all appears OK and the light still doesnt blink then it can possibly indicate that the battery charge circuit fuse has blown as "one of those things", (not unheard of) or that the circuit itself has developed a fault.
