sony mp4 doesnt play files but display is working

hello , my sony mp4player worked fine until i uploaded some files yeterday. i listened to music that evening until i fell asleep, and turned it off. when i turned it on the following day, t the seconds didnt continue couting, even though i pressed play.And there was no sound, but my headphones work fine. What should i do????
