Problem with image...

The problem i have with this handycam Sony DCR-HC18E is that sometimes i can record, other times i can´t. I will explain: 1- I turn On the Camera, OK 2- I select the option "Camera" button up, OK 3- I open the cover "cover open", OK 4- THEN I SEE ALL BLACK.... THIS IS THE PROBLEM. Sometimes happen, other times don´t happen. Can some one help me? Pedro from Portugal...
