Having difficulty accessing the main menu functions on JVC LCD LT-26A80(ZU).

When the menu button on the remote is pressed, the 'Picture, Sound, Features and Set up' functions are listed. However, when I try to move over these with the arrow buttons, the menu screen disappears and the unit changes channels according to the button pressed (up or down).
