specific viewfinder questions

I was wondering if you would happen to have a schematic of the viewfinder or at least a description of the wires in the harness that go into the vewfinder. I'm interested in the voltage it takes for it to operate. I plan on using this component in another project. So far I've tried 9 volts and tried regulating it down to 5 volts, but can't quite get a clear picture, so I'm wondering if there is some more information that I'm missing here. Thanks again. -Chris
