This worked for me!

Thanks so much - this worked for me also. I followed the instructions and they were as you described down to the number and color of screws to remove. Good tip on what to look for (ring around solder connection). I couldn't see a "crack" under a magnifier but did see the "ring" with my eye. I did re-solder 2 with definite rings and a few others to make sure. You saved me buying a new receiver. It's been working fine now for two days with no volume cut off.
