bought the same camcorder twice, both have the same problem and now i can't view my tapes

my first trv250 have had it for about 6 years and finally malfunctioned by not allowing to play the tape and then would beep showing the above code. then less than a year ago, i bought the same exact model since i am familiar with it and needed it anyway to view my tapes. now this second identical camcorder has the same problem. is this a defective model or what?
