Home | Previous messageWe have currently bought a home that has the NuTone Scovill Music Intercom 3003 Series installed. The radio works fairly well with six intercoms throughout the house (but there is a sound problem or short in several of the speakers). The intercom feature doesn't work properly and the sound is distorted. My question is this: is there a product out there today that can replace the NuTone and reconnect with the existing speakers? Or better yet, a completely new system to replace it?

Hi Julie - I am currently looking to replace my system as well. My husband installed the system when we built the house, so I have all the instruction manuals. We never had good luck with the intercoms...lots of static with voice and some speakers didn't pick up voice at all. I think it had to do with the button switches because the radio reception was always good. We never used it much except for the radio in the kitchen and I'd turn on the speakers throughout house when cleaning. We installed in mid-80's and system still works. It's so outdated I now want to replace as well. I'll let you know what I find out unless you find a replacement first. |
