JVC HDD 40 GB Everioo Camcorder GZ -MG275AG not functioning with Battery pack

Th eCamcorder is working fine on Dock. The Battery is not charging . The Msg comes as COMMUNICATION ERROR and the camera does not start on Batteries ( tried 2 batteries) Please sUGGEST
