I too had this problem,called Sony and was told it would cost $121 just to send it in and diagnose the problem and to ship it back to me...not including cost of replacement parts. I was ready to junk the camera and buy a new one, but tried the hitting the lens on my palm recommendation I saw here...wow...IT WORKS :o) The error code still came up at first, but I pulled the battery for a minute and held the power button down for 10 seconds as was told by the tech on the phone to see if that would clear the message...it did :o) Camera seems to be working fine for now.
