TV won't turn on, Standby light flashes 6 times sometimes more or less

I bought this Sony Triniton several years ago, and paid $2500.00 for it. Now it won't turn on. If you keep trying sometimes it will come on and then turn off after two or 3 days, and then the cycle repeats itself. Multiple tries and several weeks later it will turn on, and stay on for a couple or three days, and then it will be several weeks of multiple tries when it will finally come on again. The thing is tremendously heavy, so hauling it to the shop is impractical, and a good way to mess up a back. I bought an extended warranty in addition to the factory warranty, but as you would guess, no problems until both warranties had expired. Seems as if Sony and Circuit has it figure out how long these tv's last. Circuit City is out now, and from what I'm reading Sony, may be next. I have a couple of cheap Sharp TV, I bought about the same time as the Sony, and had no problems with either. Don't make sense, pay $2500.00 for a TV and does not last 5 years, and pay $300.00 for one and it last, with no issues. I will not buy another Sony Product ever.
