jvc digital video camera model gr-d244u

I got a jvc digital video camera model gr-d244u from a friend, he bought it at a pawn shop. I was wondering if this type of camera can hook up to a computer? Also if It can what do i need?

Yes! that's possible and all you require is a DVi cable (camcorder end) with a 6 pin firewire plug on the other end to couple into your PC, or put simply a 4 pin firewire one end and 6 pin the other as PC's generally use 6 pin firewire sockets, firewire also being known as an IEEE1394 (or 5) connection. The camcorder should have been supplied with a standard 4 pin DVi cable which has a USB socket on the other end, but using this requires the JVC USB driver CD which generally came with the camcorder and which may have got lost. Your PC has to have some form of video capture software installed, this installed as standard in all Windows operating system PC's and is called "Windows movie maker". (when coupled up switch the camcorder on last or it wont be recognised by the PC)
