jvc av-32890

JVC TV model AV-32890 built in 1997. Turned off....

it just turned itself off while watching. Not obvious heat anywhere, no sparks, no indication of a foul oder as electric burning. It just turned off like you hit the power button. It will not turn back on. Never had a problem of any kind in the past. It reminds me of a problem with a sony computer that did the samething. The problem with the computer was the power strip internal....does a tv have something similar or a fuse behind there somewher??

Although a few reasons can be responsible for this happening, it should be said that this model along with others made in this era are known to suffer from vertical scanning circuit component defects which if they occur will kill the power supply for safety reasons.
