JVC 42" Plasma TV - Problems with the picture quality.

My JVC VM42V31BUE has been a great TV but I have a problem with the picture quality. The colours are all wrong and the quality of picture is very bad. This happens on all types of input ( DVD, SKY etc ) except when the TV menue is activated. Even though the picture behind it is bad the menue ( part screen ) is perfect. Has anyone experienced this problem before and is there a repair answer.
