Same problem. We have a 27' Sony TV that we bought back in 1999 and it shut off last night. Won't come back on.

Obviously this has been happening for a long time, based on the messages. I'm assuming Sony isn't going to do anything about it. It's time to buy a brand other than Sony. I won't buy another Sony TV.
