jvc gr dvl1020 ea mini dv camcorder

Help on review and info of this jvc model

hi guys i am a student and i have found this awfully cheap model which is okay as i only just started to make small performance art videos. I found a jvc jvc gr dvl1020 ea, but i cant find any info about it in the internet. all i wanted to know if it could use a firewall lead that i could link up on my macbook and does anybody have this model to give me a review. many regards Andrew

    Yes, you can use the DVi / firewire link to couple this camcorder to your PC, provided of course it (the PC) has a firewire input, which can be either a six or four pin type socket, the cable you purchase being matched at one end to whatever the PC uses as the other end always has the standard four pin DVi camcorder connection, this also known as firewire or a IEEE1394/5 cable. Your PC will have to have some form of video capture software installed as the usual "movie maker" found in most PC's only (to my knowledge anyway) applies when on a Windows system, so I would enquire before purchasing any software to make sure it will work on a MAC system.
