HomeNo Playback on JVC GR DVL 520 Hi i have a JVC GR-DVL520. The tape playback suddenly stopped. I get a blue screen with SP on the RH corner. tapes that was recorded in LP mode cannot play. My old tapes also do not play. I have no idea how to change from SP to LP. I have clean the heads but this not seem to work by using the cleaning tape.

You should not require to "manually" change from LP to SP when playing back as this is a purely automatic changeover process, however this is obviously not working because of the problem you mention which can be caused by quite a number of different reasons. Are you sure the tape is actually turning when you press play? try rewinding the tape from end to end and listen if you hear the mechanism turning. |
