Getting around probs

Got a Cannon bj-w7000 but need a little help in getting it to run. Think it needs a new blade but I only want it for one off prints hence do not need to 'slit' rolls. Can I operate without a blade when the machine keeps telling me to renew the blade? How can I get around this? Any one using one of these in the Uk /North West England?
