I have a Sony CCD TRV138 camcorder and the display shows vertical, colored lines on both LCD and viewfinder when recording only. No longer shows picture. Playback is OK.
I have received a reply from this message on another message board as follows:
"Symptom shows bad CCD IMAGER in camera and requires replacement. (IC951 on CD-465 board, mounted at end of lens mechanism). Buy CCD IMAGER from any part store under following part number..
A-7013-219-A CCD BLOCK ASSY (CCD IMAGER) (TRV138/TRV338)"
I am a tech and believe I can fix this problem with the proper part and documentation. Does the above listed description sound like a proper fix for the symptoms? I'm also looking for a tech reference manual (PDF) for this camera if anyone has one. Also, does installing this part require any kind of alignment issues since it seems to be part of the optics chain. I have little experience with optics.
Thanks,
George
