Re: JVC GR-D70AA

whtthe Posted Mar 15, 2009, in response to:Paul

i bought my GR-D70 AA 5 years ago. I've had the same problem for the last 3 years of it. You've got to get it repaired by the JVC as they have to change the IC on it. It cost me $180 AUD 3 years ago. But it's still stuffed. I'm never going to buy a JVC product again.

If the lens cap problem reappeared after an "official" repair by a JVC agent then there has to be some very obscure reason for it, if indeed it is the CCD sensor! as its virtually unheard of for this to happen. The only possible suspicion I do have is that one of the faulty CCD's accidentally got mixed with the new replacement ones, however this is very unlikely with an approved repair agent. (not all are approved) It has to also be said that a CCD can get seriously damaged if the camcorder is allowed to sweep across the sun during panning a scene, and this always has to be considered if anyone has used the camcorder other than yourself.
