That problem would suggest that it was initiated when you first recorded the video onto the disc, as there are quite a few qualifications on types of disc and programme "formats" (this especially so) so have you checked the manual on this aspect? (from page 6 onwards and also on page 112) It would also have been of assistance if you had mentioned what type of discs you used, like DVD-R or maybe DVD-RW etc.
