HomeAs we move towards technology and the internet, are e-Cards the way forward to save money and help the environment? I think we can all do that little bit extra to try and help save the planet. Whether that be the little things, such as making sure all water taps are properly turned off when you leave the kitchen or bathroom, switching all your electrical appliances off instead of standby. I do all these, but I have also changed the way I send greetings cards. The amount of paper birthday cards, and Christmas cards we send every I was shocked to think at how much money I was spending, and the amount of resources I was using. To change my ways, I have now become a bit of a fan of e-Cards. I think they are such a good way to help the environment, no paper required, so less trees to be cut down! This has to be a good thing! I have done my research and I have finally come across a really good Environmentally Friendly e-Card site. One of the things I like about this site is it is so easy to use, I am not that confident with using computers so this site was really good for me, everything was easy to use and the instructions were easy to follow. Another great thing about this site is that it is totally free, this makes me very happy, saves pennies!! I know e-Cards are not going to be for everyone, but I think they are worth a try! Kind Regards, Nicole.

"Point Made" next time I have a problem with my tv I know where to come. Although I reckon the younger people on this forum would probably be able to give you quite an intellectual conversation if given the chance. Cheers! >>>You have to look at nature progs to see that there is a problem with the environment and seeing as man has the means to change his ways then why not do so! There are various ways to do so, which many people are starting to take on board<<< ............................................................................ Nicole - With reference to these comments made, I am sorry but you are putting a "lifestyle" point of view over which is alien to what the site is intended for, that being for people making requests etc for technical assistance with faulty equipment that they may have, or are seeking information about similar items that they intend to purchase, whereas you are putting a point of view over about environmental issues, and something that there are very diverse opinions about as everyone is not of the frame of mind that feels they have to be doing something to be part of the "save the planet" brigade, an issue that is rife with high level subterfuge because of vested business interests. And by the way I "do" tick people off who makes postings like in the two very good examples you gave, although in these cases its fully appreciated that as "very" unlike yourself who is suggestive of being a well educated type of person, in these other cases its quite the reverse and as such the "banging ones head on the proverbial brick wall" would definitely apply, and so explanations are quite pointless. Yes I totally understand your point, why don't you write on the discussions titled "I want to be a singer like Hannah Montana" and "I want to get signed to G-Unit" telling them what your telling me. At least my post was actually about technology and computers. You have to take a look at nature progs to see that clearly there is a problem with the environment and seeing as man has the means to change his ways then why not do so! There are various ways to do so, which many people are starting to take on board. Also, I resent the fact that you are implying that I have some sort of motive for my post! I am completely new to this, writing on a forum, I have not done this before, and to be honest this experience has kind of put me off since all I have had is a bit of a ticking off from you, why are you not spending your time telling off the singers on the forum! Good Plan! Admittedly you didn't! but anyone who makes a comment about "helping the environment" etc, etc, generally thinks along the lines that man is somehow destroying it so something must be done to save it, which is a ploy constantly expressed by people with a vested interest in furthering some business enterprise they might be either directly, or indirectly involved with. The other point being that this site is basically supposed to be for "technical purposes" albeit that it is frequently hi-jacked by people making ridiculous postings asking advice on "how to become a famous singer" etc, so although your particular comment about e-cards is quite valid as far as sending convenience etc is concerned the site is not really intended for this sort of thing, as if everyone used it as a platform for making social comments any technical questions that might be asked would be lost amongst these type of posts. reply to post To whom it may concern, I like the way you piece together your point, however, I never once mentioned the media or journalists in my post. Why bother writing a post stuffed with totally irrelevant points to my original point. Nicole. There is absolutely nothing that man does that can alter "The Planet" so to speak, and this environmental friendly mumbo-jumbo that is persistently heard from the media is all inspired by big business who wants to try and influence people into acting in a fashion that will benefit them. Unfortunately the gullible types in out society actually believe some of the incessant propaganda put out. |
