On the maintenance manual the outputs for this model are the following / (1) Standard AV to feed a TV - video recorder - or a DVD recorder. (2) An "S" video output for higher quality video (in theory anyway) into the same as above. (3) A mini USB "B" to "A" to feed into JVC's DVD burner. It does not have a dedicated PC connection and I recommend that you transfer the video into a standard DVD recorder using the AV cable provided, as this is a safer way to do it without the danger of losing the video and the quality obtained has virtually no difference from doing it into the PC, something which can be fraught with problems! (The cable you describe refers to the "S" video output socket, which is not intended for PC connections)
