This is caused through a manufacturing defect and which a "free" repair is on offer from JVC, this being conditional to you having the original packaging or the warranty which was contained therein. As you have an "AG" suffix model your country of origin is unknown, and it should be pointed out that people have experienced difficulty in obtaining the repair if they reside outside of the main English speaking countries of the world, but I would advise contacting your nearest JVC service centre. The offer expires at the end of June 2009, this being the third extension to the offer.
