This problem is caused by a manufacturing defect and which a "free" repair is on offer from JVC, this being conditional to you having the original purchase receipt, or packaging with warranty which was contained therein. Contact JVC customer services applying to wherever you may be located. Please note the offer expires at the end of December 2008, this being the second extension that had been made on the original offer nearly three years ago.
