Lamp replaced - tv will not come back on - can't get to electronic menu

I replaced the lamp after getting the popup message on the screen. However, I did not receive the replacement bulb before the TV powered off. Consequently, I can't get to the onscreen menu to reset the lamp timer. How do I get the lamp timer reset. I've tried pushing menu and OK buttons (plus other combinations) on remote, but that doesn't work either. Would anyone be so kind as to let me know if you have experienced the same problem and how you overcame it.
