As far as the lens cap problem is concerned "YES", all of these models are covered exactly the same, the only slight problem is that "U" models can cover both Canada and the US and experience has shown that "some" people in Canada have had slight difficulties in obtaining the repair, basically because of ignorance of the situation by whoever (at JVC service) answered the phone enquiry, however provided you have the "original" proof of purchase everyone who applied has always managed to obtain the repair.
