This is an old post but I'll reply anyway. I own a bunch of DVD-LS50's and you can fix the H03 error relatively easily. - Unscrew case (you'll need a jewelers screwdriver for this) - Pop out laser assembly (it'll just pop-out, it's sitting on bushings) - look carefully at the track the laser moves on, the laser's probably all the way on one side and got stuck. manually unstick the laser by hand-spinning a gear at the end of the track the laser moves on. (move it a lot to be sure, not just a little) - Put everything back together, odds are it will work again.
