Help with speakers that have loud static when call/talk button is pushed.

We have replaced our Nutone 3003 with a Nutone 3303. A couple of our speakers crackle very loudly when the call/talk button is pushed so that we cannot hear the voice. Is there a way to clean or otherwise repair the button so that we don't have to replace the whole speaker unit.
