This problem is caused by a manufacturing defect and which a "free" repair is
on offer from JVC, this being conditional to you having the original purchase
receipt, "or" packaging with warranty which was contained therein.
As you obviously know the reasons for the problem, then provided you meet the aforementioned criteria its a case of contacting JVC customer services nearest to wherever you may be located in the EU and they will take it from there, although it should be mentioned that anywhere outside of the UK (should this apply) obtaining the repair may not be so straightforward a process, as JVC in other areas are not so willing to admit the offer exists albeit that this problem is widespread in most parts of the world.
Please note the offer expires at the end of December 2008, this being the
second extension that had been made on the original offer from nearly three years ago.
