E:61:00 Error

I have had my cybershot for about 4 years and I never had a problem until a few days ago when the dreaded E:61:00 error started flashing and I couldn't take any good pictures. I was ready to get a new camera when I came across this thread, so I tried everything- dropping, messing with the lens, banging it from different angles. It took forever for me, not just one or two bangs like some others reported and I was about to give up, when finally it started working again. It may seem futile, but just keep trying and the focus will come back! At one point I actually made it worse and the camera wouldn't even turn on, but then eventually after more tries it was as good as new! I'm not sure how long it will last, but definitely try this before paying someone for it.
