Sharp Viewcam VL-A111H

Sharp Viewcam VL-A111H--tracking problem??
I have a Sharp Viewcam VL-A111H,little used,but when we record something and play back the bottom of the picture goes fuzzy and I lose sound ,if I stop and restart it is ok for seconds then goes fuzzy again,seems the tape has recorder ok just playback affected.Is it anything to do with the tracking feature?No errors appear on the screen.
Any advise please?

Thanks ,have tried with many tapes all the same outcome,seems to record ok only playback is affected.

Just a little point, and regarding what you report, is the results the same when tied on more than one tape? as a defective tape can cause these sorts of problems on an analogue device, which that model is.
