Picture package software

Hi i have a sony Digital Handycam - Dig 8 i need the software to import the footage to my pc- it has a usb cable but my pc doesnt recognise anything being there!and i have picture package cd but even wheen i install in my pc it does not work Please send to my email a link on where i can download Picture package software my email is herady2006@yahoo.com
