Sony Camcorder with bad connection?

I have taken many beautiful videos with this older Sony video camera. I have several much newer cameras, but this one still comes out on top for quality. Unfortunately it has become unreliable. Whenever it is moved, it cuts out. If I have it on a tripod and take a shot, no matter how long, it works perfectly. But as soon as I move it, it cuts out. This happens both under battery power only, or with the power chord connected (and battery removed). Can anyone suggest where I can start looking for a bad connection?
