To attach my JVC GRSXM470A camcorder to computer

Dr. A.K. Kulshrestha Posted Oct 02, 2008

I am not able to connect my camcorder with any computer as it has no attachment port in it.How should I do it?

Dear Sir, with reference to the above mentioned subject I beg to submit that it is mentioned in the JVC manual that camcorder can be connected wih computer through JLIP(Joint Level interface Protocol) Port and it has a JLIP number ranging from 0-99 in the menu of JLIP setting. I have HP laptop model no. DV2519TU and camcorder serial no. JVC GRSXM470A. I shall be extremely obliged if you will kindly guide me in attaching my camcorder with the laptop. I would also let you know that the JLIP lead which is supplied with the camcorder is a single pin lead which can be connected to the remote of the camcorder but there is no such port in the computer through which I can connect it. Early reply will be highly appreciated.

Thanks for the suggestion. Please let me know the cheapest DVD maker for this purpose available in the market as SONY DVD maker is very costly for this purpose. I would like to also tell you that in market, JXD MP4 player is available(China made) which has the port of A/V in as well as out.But as my JVC Camera is having mono output for audio, the video recording is good through this JXD device but the audio quality is very poor.Kindly suggest me whether is there any software which can edit the music on the video background.

The statement made in the manual is a misleading one as it gives the impression that you can transfer video into a PC when in actual fact you cannot, as the camcorders output is analogue which cannot be fed into a PC, that is unless the PC is fitted with a special analogue capture card, which to be quite frank about it is not worth the cost. Its far better to transfer the video taken via the supplied A/V cable into a DVD recorders A/V input sockets, and once done put that into the PC. It should be noted that the DVD recorder used for this does not need to be one of the high tech types, as the relatively cheap bottom end types give great results when used for this purpose. (would choose a DVD recorder of the DVD-R / RW type) The JLIP lead mentioned is only for editing, and in most cases useless unless both devices has the same facility, something which does not really apply very often unless only JVC devices are being used.
