I have a sony betacam deck 1200 and put a defective tape in by accident. One company could not fix it-the other wanted $850 The error code has changed since the problem began.

Now the machine will not accept a tape at all nor will the motor (eject) or insert transport move when inserting a tape. ABL electronics in Madison Hts is where Sony told me to take the machine and I have had bad experienceds with them before-but I took it to them anyway. The machine was $1800 new as its a playback only deck. Any ideas? Thanks ED
