JVC GR-70U condensation message plus tape & cover won't close. HELP!

I have been on this site for over 2 hrs, tried the 11 screws method (on 4th time) and tried cleaning the stupid little condensation sensor (on the orange cylinder) and resetting the camera using the DSC switch. I am about in tears and ready to throw this stupid camera against the wall (although I highly doubt that this will fix my problem). I have seen "JB38" help out many people with this question, so I apologize for asking it again. Can you possibly email me if you get a chance (or anyone that has actually had this same problem)?
