Does the recall still apply

I'm hoping someone can help. I have a Sony cybershot p100 which was bought three years ago. I love it and it's never failed me until now. The lcd screen has gone blank (black) when you go to take a picture, although you can still see pictures that are stored on the camera on the screen. I have read that there was a recall with this fault just after I bought it and wondered if anyone thought this would still apply? ( i don't want to have to sepnd over a hundred on it as I may as well buy a new one I think) Or if anyone knows how to fix the problem, I'd be most grateful for a reply! Thank you.
