Install handycam software

Iam not able to install my handycam software( ver 1.8.1 x for DVD Handycam) for my laptop having vista operating system "Error message is incompetable software to vista contact SOny" please help me so that i can download the my handycam pictures in my laptop. Thanking you with regards Sitaram.K
