TV abruptly died now LED flashing 4 Times - Pause - Repeat

Hi, I am looking for some assistance in repairing my 1998 Sony KV27-V40 TV. Apparently by reviewing the posts this is not an uncommon thing to be happening with this model run. Firstly, has anyone had any success with getting Sony to own up to the major manufacturing/design of this model year? Secondly, I have done soldering on PCBs in the past and I am interested in trying to repair the TV. Does anyone have any step by strep instructions and schematics on troubleshooting the 4 LED Flash issue? Could someone tell me how to the Safety mechanism so that I can get the CRT up to view the Diagnostic Screens? Could someone tell me how to activate the Diagostic Screens once the CRT is up?
