Sony HC1E faulty after reconnecting Firewire cable?

I have the above camera which has now decided to play up. I had firewire connected to PC and took out both ends and reconnected each in turn. After this the lcd screen now does not fully function. The menu option touchbutton now just brings up the volume screen, as does a lot of other touch buttons? Any ideas. (the manula does say do not connect the PC end after the camera end is connected as it may cause a fault! Perhaps this is it but how to gert it fixed. I have tried the reset button but still the same.
