This can happen to quite a number of DF models, however there is nothing external that can be done as the fault can be caused by more than one thing, and has in general to be diagnosed by partial dismantling of the casing, with which I add! the necessity of having the appropriate test equipment.
If your warranty has just ran out then I would contact JVC customer services of where ever you are located (in your particular case suggesting UK?) as they "may" carry out a goodwill repair, however a qualification to this is that you "must" be the original purchaser of the device and have some form of proof of this.
