LCD display does not work in 90 degree

Sir, I am having sony TRV 285 E model video camera. It was working fine upto May 2008. The LCD display does not work when it is opened at 90 degree. Whereas the same is working when the LCD panel is closed sligtly at 90 degree. Though I never open the LCD display other than 90 degree some people tell that because of frequent rotation of the LCD display this problem might have occured. Please also state whether I can reuse the tape once the tape is down loaded. Is there any limitation for reusage. Thank you Jambulingam
