No picture, but sound...I fixed it

This is weird, but so is the problem. If I turned it off and then back on the picture would be great for about 15-30 seconds and then fuzz up and work it's way to the top of the screen, turn upside down and go black. For some unknown reason, while it was doing it's dance to the top, I grabbed the tv and tilted it forward. Voila, the picture opened up and stayed!!! When my husband arrived (it's a large TV) I had him do the same while I loaded some books under the back end to hold it in the "tilt forward" position. Honestly, the picture is beautiful and steady. I'm afraid to turn it off though. What the? But it works!
