My Sony Camera Froze Up Can Anyone Help Me

When I turned my camera on a couple days ago, the shutter came out and then it froze up. I cannot get it to release the shutter or take pictures. When I turn it on I can get to the set up but that is about all. I hear it running but the screen is just blue. I sent the info to web link through Sony and they say it is a min of 171.00 to fix. I payed like 500.00 when it first came out but I know I can buy a new one for that price. To bad mine is like new. Thanks Pat
