what the heck???

I bought a sony trinitron in 1996 and loved it. Beautiful picture, color, etc. One day it just turned off and won't turn on again. I was going to buy the same model, obviously used, for $100. I just googled "1997 sony trinitron" and this site came up. Seems a very common problem. I'll save my $100 and just buy ANOTHER BRAND, brand new!
