Hi everybody.
I, too, did a Google search about a blinking TV, and this one came up, and it happened to be the same TV. It took me a few minutes to find all the screws, though I'm really impressed with Sony's foresight in making little arrows that point to them all - just be patient. I'm counting 12 screws that are sitting on my coffee table at the moment - three down each side, one at the middle top, and a few smaller ones down around the plugs. (I've decided to let my husband deal with putting it back together - a girl can't be expected to do ALL the work!)
It took me a few minutes to find the knobs you were referring to. Mine are very small and unmarked. They're at the bottom, to the right and slightly recessed from the circuit board. Actually, they may have been marked at one point - I had to spent a bit of time cleaning out the insides because of all the dust. I've done that with my computers from time to time but never thought to do it with my television. I'll remember that in the future.
My television still takes a minute for the picture to "click" on (there's actually an audible clicking noise, although the sound comes on immediately), but there's no more blinking. I can't really tell if the picture is compromised or not.
I know there's a new television in our future, and we've been planning to upgrade even without the problems, but cash is always a little tight in the summer, and a few weeks or months (or heck, even days) of extra use is always a good thing.
Thank you again!
