JVC D-series tv lost color after storm.
We have a 32" JVC D- Series television that we have had for a few years now. We had a storm last night and a lightening strike knocked out the power for a few moments. The TV is plugged into a surge protector. It started the next morning with the color pretty much gone.. some color was still there but was super saturated and came and went. Also the image is a bit shaky and has dark areas. No color is left now (day 2) and it is like this regardless of inputs used. Had the kids plug their game system into the #3 RCA inputs on the front, same symptoms. We really like this tv, and also cannot afford to replace it. I am fairly skilled with electronics. Is this something I can fix myself? My husband thinks it is a sure sign that the picture tube is on it's way out and is not worth fixing. I am hoping something just got shorted and can be repaired or replaced. Any ideas??? Also.... the menu colors are fine. the inputs show perfectly blue screens... this part is what has me baffled.
